ahagues
After getting 30 eggs a week for a couple of months on the 9th of November my chickens have stopped laying. 2 of them are now laying again but 3 are not producing any eggs. None of them look ill or unhealthy and are as lively and strong and as inquisitive as normal. It is 8 days now though so I am wondering whether or not it is due to a cold snap at that point, or whether they are up less so lay less... any ideas on what it might be would be great. I am not worried at the moment but it could start to soon!
Seagazer
Have you wormed them? That seems to be something that stops them laying. Also are you giving them too many treats? If you are then stop the treats for a bit and just let them have layers pellets. Good luck
Snowy
This is the time of year when they slow down and/or stop and have a bit of a break. They might also moult. Worth giving them some poultry spice or tonic and also take advantage of lower egg production and get them wormed.

Trish
my three have all stopped at the mo. I guess a combination of their age, they are moulting and the time of year
chelsea
no eggs since October here, 2 elderly moulters and 2 freeloading, forever broody cochins!
Ain't Nobody Here
One of mine has only laid softies for over a week . I'm trying not to worry yet as well!
hanson
Prudence is laying like a trooper everyday but Ferne has stopped since the clocks went back and has, on an adhoc basis laid a soft egg. Wormed her and checked for fleas. She is also losing some feathers but didn't think she was old enough to moult as its her first winter?! chooklady
3 weeks ago I was only getting 1 or 2 eggs from my 8 hens, I wormed them and we are back up to 5 or 6 a day again, brilliant.
desteys_jazz
hi yeah my 2 have stopped laying as well. they had a moult in october for abut a week when they stopped laying then started laying again. then 4 weeks after they started laying again they had another moult and haven't laid since. so will see what happens and hopefully their eggs will pick up again soon. they seem healthy in their selfs so not to worried.
