Becka
I have a lovely oilcloth from Cath Kidston which is bound around the edges with a sort of cotton tape. I would love to shove it in the washing machine to clean it properly but I don't have any washing instructions. Does anyone know if this would damage it or would I be left with a forever more wrinkled table cloth? Any suggestions appreciated. Seagazer
I'm sorry I have no idea - have you tried googling it. Perhaps Cath Kidson has a website?
Lesley
I think it would end up with permanent creases Is it the cotton edges which need cleaning? - you could try scrubbing all the edging with some bio-washing powder and a nailbrush? Gamebird
Sorry, I've no idea either but I would have thought that any heat would 'melt' the oil. Maybe a cool, hand wash might do the trick.
chickenanne
Don't look at the Cath Kidston website! Just don't do it! way too many pretty things to buy... step away from the web-site!!! I would imagine you'd damage the plasticy surface part of the cloth in a washing machine. depends how bad the edging is, though....might be worth the risk of handwashing it? Or could you just trim the edging off?
little chickadee
Dont' put it in the washing machine would be my advice. If you really can't handwash the edges, you could trim them off. My table cloth is just the oilcloth without edging and it doesnt' fray.
