What makes a chicken coop easy to live with?

I have found a small egg in the garden and because of bantams it could be them or it could be garden birds I really have no idea

 

I thought it was a broken snail shell yesterday, but today my mum saw it and told me it was an egg and had a pretty sizeable yolk in it!

 

I can't dicide if it's from the chickens or just garden birds, it has a very thin shell, a big yolk and is blue() and speckledy.

 

Any thoughts?

Gosh, it looks more like a quail egg than anything else!

Wildbirds do not lay eggs in the winter. They are too busy building up fat reserves to make i it through the long cold months.

Snakes egg? I dont know if they only lay at warmer times too

 

If it wasnt winter I would say partridge or something like that. I wonder of a rat or someting has found an old abandoned nest and brought it out. I know the eggs that were laid in my hedge behind my run are still there as I couldnt get to them.

I wouldn't say that it was a pekin egg. I too was going to say that it looked like a quail egg but they would have finished laying for the Winter even if you have wild quail around your garden.

I agree with bronze. In the picture it looks as if it has a bit of ribbon attached to it, s I think it was a garden bird egg found in an abandoned nest.

It's a piece of grass attached to the egg, I didn't think it was the girls as I wasn't expecting them to lay this side of Christmas.
