SAB
There is a posting on Inverness Gumtree about a rescue coming up of chickens who are due to go to slaughter if not found homes - anyone with room in their coop may be interested in looking at ad and replying to it. (Don't contact me about, I know nothing about it, just noticed the ad).

pollyolly
Hi there. Thankyou very much for posting information about our rescue in Keith, Moray, Scotland. We have the opportunity of rescuing 700 hens from a free range farm. Unfortuately we do not have accomodation (or money) to take 700 girls until they find homes. We are desperately looking for people who could adopt some girls. If we can find homes before the rescue (which is within 2 weeks) we could aim for getting all 700 girls out. I know this is not the ideal time of year to be thinking about getting hens, but these girls are only 1 year old and would appreciate being given a loving home. We would also appreciate if anyone could lend us some chicken crates or supply cardboard boxes for transporting. If you could help, please email or telephone 01542 888266. Thankyou again to the people who have taken the time to post my message.

sparkysmum
Polly. the BHWT have a coordinator in Callander ( this is who most people get their ex batts from in Scotland). I understand they have a waiting list of 1200 people all looking for ex batts. I am sure they would be very interested. Hope this helps.
