redfrock
My nestbox door seems to be leaking on one of my cubes. I'm sure I recall someone else posting something similar. Can anyone remember what happened? The leak isn't coming through the back panel. It is definitely through the egg port door. The rain seems to get inbetween the door and the top part of the hole in the cube side panel. Does that make sense? It was soaking in there today and I don't know what to do It's the one they use the most as well
The Dogmother
Call Omlet (0845 450 2056) and get them to sort it out Claire, they will probably send out a new side panel and egg port door.
Steve.
Now mine doesn't leak, but when I open it a bunch of drips, er, drip in making the nestbox wet. Can anyone think of any remedies? Thanks!
Jules.
I had the leaking cube! It took 2 side panels & 2 new eggport doors before the leak was solved, but solved it is, & the cube is now dry as a bone. Contact Omlet, they will sort it for you soon. Egluntyne
Ask them to test any replacement parts they send you first so that you don't have your time wasted in the way that Jules did. In the meantime, if you stuff a rag along the top of the egg port, as a temporary measure, it might help a little.
Jules.
Good point Egluntine, thanks for bringing it up That's what I eventually asked them to do for me before they sent me the side & door which I have now, & which doesn't leak
The Dogmother
Claire, if you're in the delivery area (not sure if you are or not) then I'd ask them to send one of the drivers out to sort it out. That way you can be sure of an expert job. Phil hasn't done any relief driving for them recently, but he did a couple of repair jobs last stint. redfrock
hello all thanks for all the replies. I rung them this morning. They will only send me out a new egg port door at the moment. And I have to return the old one. If that doesn't work then they will send me a new panel and so on. Alas I am well out of range of delivery Clare! Maybe I should move a bit closer to Banbury
The Dogmother
I'll have to send Phil down to you on an away day Claire
Jules.
Is this fixed now?
redfrock
seems to be ok at the moment .... I'm just waiting for it to rain to really test it out. I haven't used a jug of water / hosepipe on it yet because of the sub-zero temps. I'll keep you updated. Mind you - looking at the dates, its been a month, so maybe I'll be ok (crosses fingers!) Thanks for asking - that was really thoughtful
