The Mighty Boosh

Recommended Posts

Last night my ED school had a talent show (SW Got Talent), which I took my YD to. It was a mix of lots of variously talented girls doing all sorts from tap to singing, magic etc. Two older girls were playing The Mighty Boosh during stage set ups and they were really very funny. My ED hadn't seen them before so I showed her a bit of their Secret Policeman's ball sketch on You Tube (forgot it had a swear word in it  bad mum). Afterwards she went upstairs and told the other two about it and I have just, in my living room, had their version of The Pie sketch! Hilarious

My girls love the Boosh, but I am afraid that I just don't get it at all.

Shame, because I like Noel Fielding a lot, & think he ia really cute, but I just don't 'get' The Boosh

The Secret Policeman's ball is where I first encountered them. I tried watching the programme, but it was just to dry for me. I love their stage show stuff though. And Noel Fielding is just lovely

i too came across them by accident (channel hopping)

think they are VERY funny

would recomend the one with "old greg" in

We have 'old greg' sitting at the dinner table with us almost every night - my teen girls love the Boosh as well - snorting and snarking away like mad (and, like yours Cinnamon, singing the soup song regularly). I can't say I 'get' them much but I do love Noel Fielding!

I have bought Devon a 'put away those firey biscuits' badge for her stocking.

I have no idea what it means, but Cleo assures me that she will love it :?

There is a Boosh book under the tree for her too, & a Boosh necklace I found on ebay.

What is it about Noel Fielding that is so appealing,do you think?

He is nice looking in a slightly odd sort of way,but I reckon its just that he smiles all the time & looks like he is a lot of fun to be around

STOP!!!

I literally cannot walk down the tinned goods ailse in Tesco with my girls any more, as they break out into song & it drives me mad :lol:

There is one about Eels too I think............................

so next time I'm wandering through there and I hear singing I'll know you're nearby?

I hadn't heard of The Mighty Boosh before but thanks to a PM from BK I now have a chance to 'get in to them'... I did find them funny but had this sneaking feeling that perhaps I shouldn't? I'll have to start googling them just as soon as the xmas decs are sorted

We stumbled on him and everyone was encouraging me to talk to him because they were too shy. I hadn't seen the Boosh at that point. He was very gracious and we bought him wine and fags and shared his table and discussed Kubrick and arty stuff. He's a very nice chap.

There are/were a handful of pubs you can find him in regularly in London if you like the scrag end of bar. Not sure how much he goes out post-twins, but he is known to like a drink.

The recipe is a bog standard carrot loaf cake, but add bananas, cinnamon, vanilla essence, use OJ instead of water, lots of rosemary, and if you like - choc chips. It's a messed up carrot loaf. But the rosemary is what takes it from good to amazing.
