Recommended Posts

Hi Laura, I haven't been but Phil went a couple of years ago with his mate, they really loved it and had a great time. I am sure that he would answer your questions if you wanted to ask him about it, perhaps if you PM me with your phone number we can give you a bell tonight.

i am not going for a while, but if the offer still stands i will pm you nearer the time. thats really nice of you. thanks!

is it dodgy????

What? The Film?

Absoloutly not. (what's your definition of dodgy anyway :? )

It's a brilliant film about a family living in East Germany before the wall comes down. the Mum is taken ill and is bed ridden. Meanwhile, the wall comes down and it's how the family try to cover it all up and keep things as east german as possible for the Mum, who has to have no stess.

It's really worth a watch. You can compare before and after when you go!

I spent a weekend in Berlin a few years ago, and also went to a conference there. It's great! A very vibrant city. Not particularly beautiful (in my opinion) but really interesting. There was a lot of building going on while I was there (a few years after the wall was taken down) so I expect the city looks a bit different now. At that time the contrast between the East and West sides was still very obvious - I don't know if that's still true.

"Museum Island" is not to be missed if you are at all into museums! (just google museum island berlin)

PM me if you've any specific questions - tho my information may be a bit out of date.

I second watching Goodbye Lenin - an excellent film!

Best wishes
