At last.....we've had them since August and Agatha, top chicken and Rhode Island Red has laid her very first egg....hurrrahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

I cant weigh it accurately, and its only a little smaller than the free range eggs we get from the local farm each week..

She has crouched for two days....the first time I had no idea what she was doing...I realised yesterday, and at first thought she'd gone quite mad...

she looked absolutlely bonkers, but let me pick her up and put her in the run before we went out...(v odd for Agatha)

So happy we have an egg at last...just Daphne and Henrietta to go...

I knew Agatha would be first, and the other two have a long way to go to get as red in the face as her...

Henrietta, Crema Legbar has no red in her face yet and she's 29 weeks I think now..

still happy days !!! :-);-) ;-)

Oh and she saved it for me to find too...how sweet of her...and she had it in the nest, even when she was free ranging ...what a clever girl !!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on your first egg....:dance::clap: I am the only one who goes out to check the eggs at this point (the rest of the family seems to have lost interest) but hey that's ok as I'm just as amazed and eggcited this far on as I was when we got our first.

Our first egg was found by my sister and nephews (when they were still eggcited). They proceeded to make an announcment with sidewalk chalk on the driveway for me to see upon my arrival home.
