We have changed banks twice this year. I got cross about first direct, who we'd been with for years. Anyway we chose Alliance and Leicester because they offered enticements

 

This was a dreadful mistake and they made all sorts of errors and I don't like to messed about with. I have my own account with nationwide and after a chat we decided to go with them, as their internet banking is great, I can manage the savings online easily and they have been reliable, but no fancy offers.

 

I have just had a call to say they made a mistake with setting up a direct debit and have given us £50.00, now that's a good bank as far as I am concerned.

I've been with Nationwide for more than 10 years, after getting thoroughly hacked off with Barclays and then Nat West. Can't complain about their service and their internet banking is great - especially e-savings!

I've been at Nationwide with an under 18's savers account. We closed my Halifax account as the interest wasn't as good.
