Chooks Aloud
Hi everyone, This is the first time I've posted a message so hope I'm doing it right. Well what a week it's been. First of all the A level results. My eldest daughter got 4 B's and one C. Then she passed her driving test on the first attempt and the following day it was her 18th birthday. Then my other daughter got her GCSE results: 3 A's, 2 B's and 5 C's and then on top of that I'm getting my eglu and chooks next week. Yippeeeee!!! ubereglu
I'll be following in your footsteps soon as in Year ten I'm taking my maths and science GCSE's. That means I start maths coursework next year! AHHH!!!!! We had to start science and Maths in year 9. Yeah, that's what I'm doing-I mean I'm taking my actual GCSE exam in Year 10 rather than year 11 when I'm 16.
Martin B
We take 2 Maths exams in year 10, 1 science. We will have 1 GCSE grade before the end of Year10. Are you going into year 10 this year then?
ubereglu
No, I'm starting Year 9. But coursework's spread over the two years and as it's modular maths I take some of the exams next summer. I'm not sure what's going on with Science though .
Martin B
You take your SATs in year 9 summer.
ubereglu
Yes, and I'm also taking a GCSE exam then too. It's because I'm in the accelarated groups for Maths and Science-it basically means you a year ahead. As they hadn't decided what to do last year until right at the end and it's the first year they're doing it, it means we also have to do SATS then as well as do GCSE work. Cate in NZ
You take your SATs in year 9 summer. Not always Martin. SATs have to be taken by year 9, but some schools have a policy of taking them early so that can get them out of the way early and get started on GCSE coursework sooner. Almost all our local schools take them early, Seb's school is an exception and he took his in year 9. His sister Imogen (of the blog ) sat her science SAT at the same time, but she was in year 8. I think schools do their own thing
