SAB
Poor Tallulah our lavender pekin bantam was looking saturated in mud the other day so it was time to take the plunge and wash her - we expected chaos, but she loved it as you can see from the photos: "Hey, I thought these guys were veggie?!!" Lovingly wrapped up with my OH (remember, the guy who swore he hated chickens and that nothing would change that - yeh, we belive him ) Gentle blow dry on low heat with daughter as chief stylist! "This is just sooooo relaxing!" With daughter and eldest son, enjoying some corn and looking beautiful! As it was cold outside and she is moulting at present (not best time of year for it) we kept her inside in cat carrier at radiator for a while till she was totally dry and returned her to the Cube for bedtime. Mind you, I think she would happily have become a house chicken. Yesterday we put balm on all the chicken's combs (well all but our exchequer leghorn who would not let us pick her up and was most indignent) - it was so funny as whilst most merely tolerated it, 2 of our ex-batts kept standing in line to get done again - it reminded me of the bit in Snow White where Dopey keeps coming back for a kiss

SAB
Aaaw, how sweeet! And may I say what lovely children you have too - your daughter's hair is gorgeous Yep I kind of like them too! My daughter has been blessed with red hair which is glossy and straight and goes a lighter shade of red in summer - not like the usual red wire mops that pop up in the family . She also has brown eyes, which is also unusual with red hair. Only a few weeks before the photo was taken she had her hair long and seems to have aged hugely since having it chopped (she is only 12). And you would never guess my son wants to be a rock star,eh Given how bad the weather has got, I am glad that we managed to bath Tallulah before the snow came. Tulip
What a gorgeous family and chickens! Thanks for the pics.... Chilli could do with a bath too, but it'd be far more chaotic than that!

cherryblossom
I love the picture if your chicken in the pot. I would have to have bunged a carrot and an onion in, just for photo purposes obviously. LOL.
