Before I go and look daft at B&Q , what length of bungee cords do I need to attach a shower curtain or tarp to cover the eglu run please? I've seen all sorts advertised, but don't know if the length given is the unstretched length or the maximum it will stretch to, so thought I'd ask here before venturing forth

 

I'm trying to get my act together now in case the new ex-batts I am on the list for in March are available earlier, as I would hate not to have everything all ready for their arrival. has been acquired and just needs its run putting on and covering to keep them out of the rain, more feeders and drinkers are on the list, and pretty much everything else I've already got for the current monsters. Just need to make sure I can keep a cover on the run, hence the bungees.

 

I know a lot of you have covered your runs, so some of you are bound to know about bungees. Many thanks in advance

I got some from B&M - they was only 1 size - sorry not much help am I?!

Same here and they are about 6" long.

These are what I bought. I have a selection of sizes. I would say it depends if your shower curtain reaches nearly to the ground at the sides or not - if so the 30" would probably be needed. If not, the 18" would probably do. I tend to mix and match mine - adding a small to a medium & so on! (You need slightly shorter ones at the eglu end, remember!)

Sorry can't tell you the size of mine. I got them cheap in a pack of 2 from Poundland. They didn't stretch and weren't long enough so I just hooked 2 together to make a long one to go over the run width. So I've got 6 bungees on my eglu traversing 3 points over the run.

I think we all do it differently, I use Arro plastic eyelets from Millets (about £2.99 for 10) to attach the bungee hooks to each corner and one in the middle of the long side.
