Egluntyne
Supermarket garlic powder? Do you mean the small packs used for culinary purposes? Please don't use this , it is not the same thing at all, and is too salty.
cordelia
perhaps she means garlic granules...they dont have salt in them???? (supermarket wise) I I feed mine large grit (flint) with added oyster shell...and my local pet shop stocks it...they also have the finer grade which is for parrots caged birds etc... you just need to troop around a few stores, as they all seem to have different stock... wiblick
thanks for the heads up on the garlic I'll use fresh and get some from a horse supply store. Yes the trooping. Trying to do all the leg work now so as when the time comes I can get in a 3 month supply - disruption must be kept to a minimum around skeptical OH! (and I'll need him to drive me to collect supplies).
Alfred
I have never given mine any grit and they are fine. (they wouldn't have had any grit when they were in the battery farm apart from what was in the layers food) we do have quite gritty soil though so they probably get the odd bit.
