MedusA
I suppose I should think myself lucky that only one of my seven hens gets broody spells. Squib has been really broody now for many days and during the freezing spell, I didn't like to put her in the broody cage, so she comandeered one of the nest boxes and only left it when I booted her out several times a day to eat and drink. It also caused a few queuing problems for the other eglu's nestbox! She's in the broody cage now that the weather is a bit milder, and seems to be OK. Hopefully the mild spell will hold out for the 3 days it usually takes to snap her out of it. What does everyone else do when it's really cold and your hens go broody?
