HENthusiastic
I've just reserved a speckled sussex (so pretty) and a cream legbar ( ) So eggcited. Have to wait about ten weeks though . Its frustrating and exciting knowing that the little mites will already be alive and all cutsey . I wish I could go and see them. This has led to me trying to hatch all sorts of mad (and expensive) plans of how we can get adequate housing in order to house them from littluns! My temporary housing is okay for a short period during introductions, but I wouldnt be happy with them in there for too long.
Plum
Oh HEN how exciting, you little devil. So are they eggs now or a bit bigger? Why can't you go and see them?
mostin
so exciting , where have you ordered them from in the end? Little balls of cheeping fluff they might be at the moment .

HENthusiastic
I've a speckled sussex coming too!!!!!! they are so lovely.... but I have to wait until the summer Thats tragic! HOW will you wait until the summer? Can't you drive up to Raw Green Cottages and get yourself a spring speckled sussex?!? They are lovely looking arent they. I said to the lady that I didn't necessarily need them to be POL, but that I would want them to be big enough to integrate with my grown up girls after a couple of weeks. She then said that they would be big enough in 10 weeks time! So, I don't know how old that actually makes them now I'd guess they must be hatched though. Does anybody know how old a hen would have to be before being put in with adults? Could it be that I'm getting them at 10 weeks old? Surely that would be too little. Just had a Why dont I just ask her!
quickcluck
And the answer is??????? Couldn't find anywhere that had all the girls I needed at the same time and am a wuss and only want to do one set of intros..........
HENthusiastic
I haven't asked her yet. What other girls are you getting then? So many beautiful girls, so hard to choose. When Mostin told me about her blue egg and green egg in one day I nearly changed my mind!
