Toots
I have been building a large run for the chooks, As part of this i had to clear the patch of garden where they will be housed. there was a v. large bush in the way so i trimmed it, dug at it, hit it, cut it with a saw but still couldnt get the roots out. The chickens loved this as i would do all the work of exposing the snails etc. i ended up sat on my knees searching for snails to feed the girls. a whole hour i spend digging through the cut down pland instead of finishing the job! well next day the first egg from our wellsummer! she is 30 weeks old so we had given up expecting anything next day .. i was digging through plants looking for snails. it took me 10 min to realise i had been trained! Mazzarina
Brilliant - they obviously know how to organise you. I had a similar experience with a shrub root. I never managed to get the whole thing out, but it was a wonderful worm farm for the girls!
