poachedegg
Aldi have these for sale on Thursday, as we've only got a small garden - was thinking of getting one and wondered whether anybody else has one and if they are any good?
Redwing
I bought a 6 x 4 ft version of this in October, it has fallen apart now The cover is not too bad, the trick is not to attach the guy ropes to it but burn a hole through and tie them to the main frame otherwise the wind rips the cover The plastic brackets on mine did twist and tore in the wind in the end making the whole thing collapse Its the wind that is the killer, if you have this in a very sheltered area you may be ok, the smaller non walk in shelved ones are less prone to tearing and are very good You may also be ok if you only want to leave this up in the late spring/summer All in all mine was £80 largely wasted although I will reuse the cover and metal bars elsewhere in the garden

Chookiehen
I can only echo what redwing said. We had a 6 x 4 one at our old house before we invested in a 'proper' greenhouse, and it was fantastic - we grew many thing successfully in it, but it was in a very sheltered position, and never put to any wind test. Where we are now, it would be at the top of the village within 5 minutes due to the wind!
Snowy
I agree - ours is a smaller version, but it blew over before we tied it to the wall Also the cover has ripped after a years use and the door zipper has perished and is broken. Apart from that, it does work well to grow things in
..lay a little egg for me
Its the wind that is the killer, if you have this in a very sheltered area you may be ok, the smaller non walk in shelved ones are less prone to tearing and are very good You may also be ok if you only want to leave this up in the late spring/summer All in all mine was £80 largely wasted although I will reuse the cover and metal bars elsewhere in the garden The wind killed ours too. ditto to wasted money I'm afraid

C&T
Just to say that I was given this one for Christmas from OH. Our garden is "sheltered" (read small... ), and so far it has stood up to the elements without any problems at all. The zip did break though (not because of the weather, but weak zip) but got some stick on velcro and that has done the job perfectly. My seeds are currently in it now, and there is plenty of room for tomotoes to grow etc later in the year. So far I am really pleased with it... And so is OH, as there are no seeds on the dining room table! I had a very cheap small plastic greenhouse last year, and the quality was really bad. The plastic reacted with the sun and became really sticky - it became one giant fly trap. Revolting! But the frame has now been re-cycled and part of it is now in the chicken run and they love it!
