baby grand piano

Recommended Posts

Well the exceptionally good discount . . . disappeared!!! I wanted to buy the Kawai baby grand on a web site from a Welsh company. It seems their painos are not new but used for four days in festivals then sold on cheaply. On the site it wouldn't accept the payment so I had to ring and speak to them. They couldn't guarantee the price which was £3K less than my local shope were asking. The bloke didn't get back to me as promised so my gut feeling/doubts made me look elsewhere.

Eventually after much searching I found a family run shop in Northern Irealnd who had a good reputation and a price that was £2,150 cheaper than my local shop. I always try to buy locally so I asked them if they would price match. the chap from my local shop rang me and went on and on about delivery, service etc and that every piano sounds different and beware of buying before trying . . I picked up uncomfortable vibes from him and decided he was a bit pushy, slagging off the the other company etc.

So two new identical pianos . . how much variation can I expect? Surely they would sound similar?

Piano arriving Tuesday 12th . . . so excited!!! Will post a picture.

Also really excited as I had my piano lesson today and my teacher is putting me in for the Piano Prep test and I have started the Grade 1 pieces. I'm so chuffed as I only took up the piano in September. :D
