Mrs Webmuppet
After free ranging all day they all went into the Cube run. .......there's been a little bit of pecking ( nothing too vicious).Hopefully they will all go to bed together. I will have to separate them in the morning as I will be out all day and I don't want to risk leaving them all together unsupervised. Barkisland
Brilliant! So glad it's all going well, and it's especially good to hear about the first eggs Mine are socialising nicely along the Siegfried Line. Gerty's new feathers are coming on really well, so as soon as she is fully dressed I will be allowing them in together and seeing how it goes. Cooks
mine are just thinking about going to bed.. they are having no problems with the ladder (although mine is lower than normal) and pop in and out when they like now. My son came home from school and was delighted with Dory's egg, I think I might frie it, as that way it shows all it's lovely yolk off in full glory. Mrs Webmuppet
Well Bumble, Snowy and Scurry have gone to bed in the Cube. I had to lift Bumble and Co into the Cube ( they stood at the bottom of the ladder looking confused with Scurry shouting for help) I put them into the Cube then Snowy (who isn't very bright) tried flying up onto a non existant perch and bumped her head I shall go and check on them later. Then I shall have the fun in the morning of moving them around before I go out.

Mrs Webmuppet
They passed a peaceful night. This morning I separated them although Bumble is having a tantrum about being moved. Bumble managed the Cube ladder this morning but Snowy and Scurry wimped out and had to be lifted down . I shall put them to bed together tonight and separate them again in the morning. Cooks
it's going well then Sugar is making the others know that if SHE wants to lay her egg they are not under any circumstances allowed in her egg laying spot
Cooks
well it's not going as great as it was, Sugar is pecking at Flo a bit, not drawing blood or anything, but Flo is about to lay so I guess it's a power thing. Hopefully it will settle.
Falkor
Shame Sugar is pecking but at least no blood! I am sure it will all settle down

Mrs Webmuppet
They had another peaceful night all together in the Cube, they all had breakfast together ( split between 3 dishes) and are now running around the garden before we go out. Scurry was the only one who had to be helped down the ladder this morning The sooner they all live together in the Cube the better, the wooden chook house attacked me yesterday and I now have a small cut accross the bridge of my nose (just where my glasses sit - I will have to wear my lenses until it heals). Bumble is definately head chook, with Snowy and Scurry as her ladies in waiting ( wherever Bumble goes Snowy and Scurry are just a few inches away). Phosphorus
Hiya Finally got on to see how it is all going. How were they this morning, any more pecks? Crossing fingers for you. Wernlas don't have any H/Es for araucanas so might have to go Cream legbars when the time comes
Cooks
yes quite a bit of pecking, but not hard enough to draw blood, but I think thats because Flo is going to lay anytime as she's crouching. hopefully it'll settle it's still early days. Mrs Webmuppet
All seems to going OK. Bumble has mastered the ladder, Snowy can get down (well sort of flaps her wings and by passes the ladder) Scurry has to be helped........Yesterday I ended up teaching both the bantams to use the ladder to go to bed, apparently very funny to watch I have put all the water and feeders in the Cube so there's plenty of food and water stations to avoid too much pecking. Fingers crossed I may be able to get rid of the wooden coop soon.

Cooks
it's going great actually, a bit of feather pulling occasionally, a few minor pecks, no blood or anything, all girls seem happy enough and the pecking etc gets less and less each day. Thanks for asking. The eglu goes to it's new home next weekend so they better behave themselves.
