pickles
hi all just got some new batts so trying to dose my flock and the new ones before they meet. Ive got panacur which i know is a 10 day withdrawal. So ive done the cock and the 2x batts last weekend. Ive also spot on'd them all yesterday with 1ml permethrin each, inc tiny spot on each of the ducks, couldnt get their attention long enough for the full 1ml each. Would be grateful of your assistance so i know if to bin todays eggs or not
Egluntyne
I would discard the eggs as it doesn't appear to be licensed for use on Poultry in UK. Article about egg withdrawal **here**.
pickles
Thanks already read through that when i looked up the panacur doses, i just couldnt find permethrin on there, unless ive missed it. Hence the post.
Christian
Generally speaking pickles, if it isn't licensed for use of poultry, then I would withdraw the eggs.
Egluntyne
If it is the Bob Martin's Spot On that you have used, then definitely withdraw the eggs to be on the safe side as *this product isn't licensed for us on poultry in UK. Out of friendly interest, what made you use this particular medication?
pickles
Was told my poultry guy as it was stronger than ivermectin, kills northern fowl mite the lot. I beleive its the same stuff on some of the louse powders you can buy for chicken coops. I know its not licensed to be actually used on them. Did a bit of searching on google. I managed to track some down at pets at home with the bob martin puppy spot on. Ive got a feeling i used ivermectin last time again that was spot on from pets at home, cant remember which animal it was supposed to be for though. Be careful if you have cats though the permethrin can kill them.

The Dogmother
There's an excellent article here about treatment of lice and mites. I have used the Johnsons anti-mite spray in the past, in conjunction with Ivomec Eprinex, and found it to be a very effective combination. **these products are not licenced for use on poultry in the UK and egg withdrawal will need to be confirmed with your vet**
