Budgies
Does anyone own a laminator? I'm looking for a recommendation for one as a Christmas present (like to start early!! ). I've seen several that you can buy to use at home (it's mainly for laminating recipe cards, god-children's art work etc) but have seen that some of them aren't very reliable and leave bubbles and imperfections. Any suggestions? Thanks, Sue Budgie
Louise
I have one at work it is an Esselte and takes up to A4 sized paper and I have no problems with it but one of the tricks is to use quite good quality pouches and always use a cardboard carrier to run them through some pouches say you don't need one but personally I think you get a smoother laminate
Guest
I will echo what Louise has said, I use one at work and it is much better using the cardboard carrier, it makes a much smoother finish
ubereglu
Laminators are actually really useful aren't they! At my old primary school we got to make placemats with them, basically you do a picture and get it laminated by the machine. Don't get my sister to work them though. she nearly broke it! ali-s
My laminator was from Tesco, it only cost about £15. I love it I'd always wanted one It gets used a lot for waterproofing Jack and Natalie's swimming training sheets. I have never had any bubbles appear and it seals really well, the training sheets stay nice and dry
ali-s
I forgot to say it is a Tesco own brand laminator.
Budgies
Thanks very much for all your responses - I can't wait now! I can imagine that if Santa brings me what I want, come New Year, anything not nailed down at home will be laminated!! Sue Budgie
