Warm boot recommendations please

We are just moving from an eglu with 3 chickens to a cube and are thinking of getting 3 more chickens but I just wondered how many chickens people had.

8, but they are in a walk in run.

3 at present with an extension - it will go to 6 soon hopefully.

We are in a strange position because we leave the chickens to roam freely during the day and they choose where they sleep. It does vary slightly but the usual at the moment is four girls in one cube and 13 in the other.

We have 5 in a cube, however we hope to add our 3 ex batts in there too. At the moment we have 2m + 1 extension, but will add 2 more extensions when the ex batts move in, so there will be 8 with 5metres.

16 in a large WIR.

 

I have given them the option of an additional Eglu but they don't want to know.

I have 7 at the moment in a large WIR, by the end of the summer though I am hoping that 4 more ex-batts will have joined them and then there will be 11 in there.

Our 13 girls free range all day then all sleep in one cube leaving the second cube empty.

We have a for the 4 Orpies and for the 3 chooks , although the is just an expensive nest box at the moment as everyone bunks up together in Liberace! Both are attached to the WIR.

 

Eventually, the Batties will go into it we hope, although I expect I'll put their in the WIR as an option for them to start with....... where they will all sleep then is anybody's guess !!
