I think i've been had

Recommended Posts

This week I got a 60g tub of flubenvet 1% premixture from a local Vet.

When I was paying I did think the price was a bit steep at £20.99. My last lot of flubenvet lasted me nearly 4 years, was cheaper and was a larger tub. I put the price rise down to inflation.

I have just been on the best pet pharmacy website and their price for the Flubenvet is £12.57. So either the Vet is making a massive profit or the internet company selling at a loss (which I doubt).

If you haven't opened it, you could always take it back to the vet and ask for a refund - I'd tell them why too.

I bought diet food for tubby puddy from the vet initially till finding it nearly £10 cheaper on the web  . When the vet asked me if I wanted any more, I explained as diplomatically as I could that I was buying elsewhere - he didn't seem surprised.

yep i would say u have..i know horse wormers are really expensive in shops vets etc i always get things like this of the net.

However to be fair at least the vet will give u advice if u need it whereas the net wont! so i suppose u r paying for their knowledge and correct wormer. But yep that is steep

indie :)

I've already started using the wormer.

When I asked for some Chicken wormer the vet mentioned a wormer I have never heard of. I was insistant that I wanted flubenvet as I have used that before, it worked and there wasn't any egg withdrawal. The vet was not happy :? and tut tutted the whole time he was looking up flubenvet in his drug book. I can't remember the name of the other wormer it wasn't any that have been mentioned on this forum.

You were had I think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would phone them up and ask why it is so much dearer you expect it to be a little dearer as the internet pharmacies dont have surgeries to heat and lots of staff to pay so can operate cheaper and can buy things in bulk - understandable like cash and carry's do with food but not so much dearer.

We keep flubenvet 1% on the shelf for chickens all the time.

I am going to mention it when I take Miley back to have her stitches removed.

In fact I have decided that will be my last visit there. There is one Vet in particular I have always found to be pompous, there is just something :? about him I do not like. I am always relieved when I go if another Vet is on duty.
