My first instructor called me a *name i'm not sure I'm allowed to use on a family forum??* cos I waved thanks at a bunch of guys my age who let me in the queue on my first lesson

Needless to say I didn't have anymore lessons from him!

 

My second instructor was a lovely lady, I could already drive ok, had driven 2000 miles by the time I became her pupil and already had my test booked, and had only 3 lessons with her, and took my test.

 

Dont give up just because of one bad instructor!

Ignore (safely obviously) other drivers. We've all had to learn to drive at one time or another. Some drivers forget to have patience with learners.

Exactly Seagazer. And if they are in such a hurry, a minute or so won't make any difference. So saying that - DS has had people toot him and tailgate him. Poor kid has only reached 3rd gear so far. Some people are such idiots. As long as you remember what it was like for you when you were learning after you pass and come across a learner. I do - I panicked at traffic lights at the top of a hill and my dad had to swap over. Lots of cross looking drivers behind us! Ooh, he must have sat with me twice then!

Try not to worry in advance of the driving lessons (says me who used to be pacing the floor before the instructor arrived ).

 

Keep us informed of how you are getting on.

 

Oh and if your instructor asks you what you least like doing, think before you reply. I answered honestly that I didn't like roundabouts so guess what I was made to do for the entire lesson......roundabouts!
