Janty
As a lot of you know, one of my ex-batts turned He/She a while ago. She had huge wattles and a massive comb along with a good old set of spurs but no crowing. Today she went a step further. She ran around the garden puffing her chest out and crowed continuously until I could catch her. Thankfully Mum-in-law has a huge garden and she has offered to take her. Hopefully that will work out. badgerbluebadger
I am sorry you won't be able to keep her but at least you will be able to still see he/she. I know it not the same but you could still pop over to your morther in laws and feed treats and spoil!

Egluntyne
What a shame. At least you know she is going to a good home.

Hangman
OMG I hope none of mine change sex, I couldnt bear to rehome them. How can such a thing happen? I have never heard of that before? Love Sue A hen with a dodgy ovary will produce more testosterone, grow male plumage, and behave like a male. The ovary then changes into a testicle. SAB
Just as Hangman says. Though rare, it happens more than you would think . We were very sad when Manfred (previously Myrtle) had to be rehomed, but the blow was softened by the fact that the guy we get our chooks from found her/him a lovely home where he/she could crow to his/her hearts content and have lots of friends to play with. Janty
He / She is still as cocky She is strutting aroung the in-laws field bossing the ducks and the other chickens about. And she's still crowing regularly.
