Cate in NZ
I agree Pepe, I think that initially Omlet were very chicken focussed, but since they've diversified their eglu market I think that it'd be a great idea for them to consider including some rabbit/ GP/duck based merchandise. Keep all eglu owners happy

Martin B
Today I also rescued a fish. Since my aunty and cousins moved house they neglected the poor thing so today I came home with a goldfish and a tank! The morning feeding list: Myself, 2 dogs, 2 tortoises, pond fish, chickens, rabbits, house fish!
pepe
Oh no! I went in the pet shop for my dog and rabbit food and nearly came home with a hamster, and there was a lonely guinea pig S o I know how you feel.AND today my hubby mentioned keeping chickens he said he would look after them, until I mentioned all the poo and cleaning hes changed his mind. how often do chickens need cleaning out? Martin B
The eglu tray needs cleaning once or twice a week. The roosting bars once every 2 weeks perhaps, and the whole thing every month! Very easy!
pepe
ps, I think there's another topic here Martin who went out for one thing and came back with two or more
ali-s
Oh Mandy let him have a few chickens Cleaning them out is easy. The poop tray gets cleaned twice a week...... slide out tray and tip contents into compost heap, or carrier bag and into the bin. Fold newspaper to fit tray, put folded newspaper in tray, push tray back into Eglu. Time taken 3 minutes My Eglu gets cleaned about every 2 weeks or once a month. This takes me about 10 minutes plus time to dry, if I'm in hurry I dry it off with the dogs towel Last winter when I couldn't bear to be out in the cold the Eglu didn't get cleaned for months
Cate in NZ
Mandy, I'm in agreement with Ali & Martin..... chickens are lovely pets and the eglu is a dream to keep clean The garden can be a different matter, but that all depends on how many you have and how much you let them free-range Let him have his chickens...... just think of all those lovely eggs
