dame egna
At the moment, we have 5 chickens - but next week we will be adding two more. How many nesting boxes will I need? At the moment I have two, although I'm not entirely sure that's enough for 5 girls?? Any advice welcome as always

dame egna
Do you ever find they all want to lay in the same one? And at the same time?! Lol, I have noticed this with mine.... or perhaps they are just mad!!!
Christian
I believe it is one nest box per 3-4 chickens as Redwing says. Any less and you risk 'double decker' chickens I have 2 eglus and 5 hens and they all try and lay in one nest box. At the same time edited to add - no dame egna, Your chickens are mad
dame egna
Double decker chickens I get those when they go in at night -they seem to want to sleep in their nesting boxes, on top of each other? Oh well, least two sounds ok then. Will see how it goes I suppose!
