My mum came up the stairs about 5 mins ago flapping her arms about and shouting

 

THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH ONE OF THE GIRLS

 

she told me that one of the girls was fitting

 

 

Well i ran down the stairs and out the back to find Lady Lay rolling about, she was having a dust bath

 

My mum (the woman that is absolutly terrified of birds) is now out the back watching them

Similar thing happened to me:

 

My good friend and neighbour came over for a cup of tea the other week while my chooks were out in the garden. She suddenly looked pale and went very quiet; " I don't want to worry you, but I think one of your hens is having a seizure or something.." It was my Merrydale Sweetie having a dustbath. My friend was very embarrassed when I explained this to her.

I was always grateful to this forum for telling me how chickens look when they sunbathe, otherwise I would have been sure my ex-batts were dying when the first did it - eyes shut, lying on their sides, wings spread - I would definitely have thought they were breathing their last, not having a great time!

Love the image of your mum flapping her arms about - almost expected you to say she'd been squarking too .

 

Bless her, it is disconcerting the first time you see them .
