margotthechicken
Thanks! Clucky still appears to have impaired vision, even after all this time. But, she has a beautiful comb, and a full set of gorgeous red feathers. She is also my best layer. She adores running free in the garden and digging up my borders. OH has observed her eating an entire Basil plant! Thankyou to all those Omletiers that sent messages of support and those that said silent prayers for Clucky. chickenNutter
Ellie, What a wonderful chicken mummy you are. I am praying for Clucky and I am sure that with the care that you have given her, you have done everything you could, and Clucky will know, and will love you for it whether or not she survives. It is best to let the vet have a look at her and decide what is best, they have years of training and their decisions are always based on what is best for the comfort of the chicken. She is calm and cared for now and whatever happens she knows you love her. animals just sense these things, and just know. Fingers crossed sweetheart. cluckingmad
Good grief, only just found this thread - hats off to you Ellie, I know a lot of adults who wouldn't have had the faith/guts to nurse such a poorly hen back from the brink.. if you can do this then you can do anything! And Margot, well done to you too I'm utterly amazed that little Clucky has recovered so well - used to work at a vets and we saw a lot of horrible injuries to hens, ducks, you name it, and not all pulled though even with the best care we could give - Clucky obviously wants to stay with you both
