I spent it having my first session in learning how to keep bees with my local bee-keeping association http://www.suttoncoldfield-beekeepers.co.uk. I can't think of a nicer way to spend a birthday. DD and I plan to learn for a while, at the association's apiary, before even thinking about getting any bees of our own. DD bought me the "bee on hive" Trollbead for my birthday, bless her. Dad said a while back that he'd like some bees in the garden but knew nothing about them.
