Space Chick
Hi, I'm probably going to look REALLY stupid! I've had 3 eggs now (Mon, Weds and today). Eggs 1 and 2 looked the same, but today's egg looks really different. I was wondering if they would all be from the same girl or whether another has started laying. http://doodlesite.com/photos/main.php?g2_itemId=891 Attached a URL instead, as picture wasn't working (I'm such a technophobe!) . Egg on the left is yesterday's, egg on the right is today and is quite speckled. So are they from the same chook or are 2 of my girls laying? Thanks Debs Edited May 1, 2009 by Guest
Kalu
Hi Debs, Can you try attaching the photo again......can't see any eggs.........do you know which of your girls laid the first two? what type of chook is she?
Space Chick
I don't know which girl laid the first 2. I was in work, however, I am working from home today and am keeping a close eye! I have a warren, a black rock, an amber star and a speckledy. Many thanks Debs
Egluntyne
They do look as if they are from different hens, but which two is anybody's guess.
Space Chick
Thanks! I suspected it was 2 girls.
Guest
Hi I am no expert but i have a speckledy and a bit like you she seems the most developed and the egg on the right of your photo looks just like the egg I am getting and i dont have the other same breeds as u. I get a speckled one most days now..and I got a big plain egg so am not sure where that one came from(my speckledy eggs are small) I have 2 /1 plymouth and rhode islandx /1 bluebelle and 1 speckledy So i am going to guess its is the speckledy egg indie
Space Chick
Congratulations Indie, you are correct, we watched her go into the nesting box earlier and when she came out we checked and there was a lovely small speckled egg So Martha and Sarah-Jane are laying. Rose and Donna need to sort their acts out
smithy36
Yep - has to be! Our chickens eggs always look exactly the same - some chicks lay oval shape some rounded, colours are all different, but each hen always lays an identical looking egg - you will soon work out which is which and it makes it easy to track them. I think that the eggs from Florence, our speckledly, are the most attractive.
