quickcluck
I'm off to collect 2 lovely Columbines! They are 17/18weeks. Can't get them til after 4pm though But have my box ready, address in sat nav and phone numbers ready incase it's in the middle of a field! Am only taking 1 box so that i'm not tempted with a speckledy

bigmommasally
Exciting - look forward to seeing pictures. Supposing you get there and that little tiny speckledy looks at you with big puppy dog eyes and you fall in love. You'll wish you'd got that second box
Jules.
and 3 hens will be much easier to introduce to your existing flock than just 2 hens

quickcluck
It's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard.... these 2 are extra you see I have 4 large girls coming from the Wernlas Collection in the summer which will take it up to 12... although one more wouldn't tip it over the edge surely We've just built a new run 21x8 which is big enough for them all, but am worriend about the noise as they are nearer my neighbour than me..... Chook n Boo Mum
...and if with your other girls you will have 12, a speckledy would make it 13....I couldn't live with that so would have to get either 2 or 4 today so I would have 12 or 14 in the end Sha x

Chook n Boo Mum
They are coming from withy cottage garden poultry http://www.withypoultry.co.uk/ Sha I also struggle with the odd number thing. OCD anyone It's not so much the odd numbers it's just the whole 13 thing!! Up until a few weeks ago we had 11 chooks (3 originals, 4 Orpingtons and 4 ex-batts), DH announced we should get another one to make a round dozen....no can't add just one to a flock...get 2 then...no would make 13...that means we have to get another THREE...yup . I'm glad we didn't though as a few days later we lost Tulip which would have set me off again...can't have 13 so need another pair Good luck with being strong on your quest for 2 (or 4 !!!!) quickcluck
Am back!!!!!! Only one Columbine due to feather pecking, he wouldn't let the others go but she is lovely and has a little crest!!! This means I was able to get a speckled which was also very high on the list and still only come home with 2 and EVEN number They are in their new pen.. and the others are SHOUTING at the top of their voices. Penny is the worst.... now I am really worried about the noise Hopefully it will settle SOON...... They have been peering through the divide and the either the small ones are taking food from the older one beaks are the older ones are trying to peck them with a full mouth! Very unlady like Strangely the dog know there are 2 different chickens and is going mad!! How does he know??? Will post pics asap, if you'd like to see
bigmommasally
Yes of course we want to see the pics One of each sounds a good compromise Hope the noise levels settle down for you soon. - Can't hear them from hear
