Lydia
I've got tickets for his show in Oxford. Hubby originally said he'd go but really isn't that keen (thinks it'll be too camp). All friends are busy. So if anyone fancys accompanying me to see Mr Barrowman (+ guests apparently) to see a show that promises to be quite fun if not life changing do PM me. It's at the New Theatre in Oxford on Sat 16 May, doors open at 7.

bellekatz
I saw him last year and am going again to the Manchester one in 2 weeks!!! He isnt camp, but is very funny and had me crying with laughter..................... oh yes and he can sing too! If it were any closer I'd be there myself
fluffyfeet
Saw him at the Birmingham Hippodrome last year in panto (Aladdin). He was simply brilliant - and absolutely gorgeous. My little boy was lucky enough to be invited on stage to talk to him and I had to use every ounce of willpower not to embarass myself and follow him up there! One of the best all round performers I have seen! Dawn x

Bantambabe
I'm already going on Monday to see him at Symphony Hall in Brum, otherwise I'd be there like a shot. Saw him last year and he was absolutely FANTASTIC. Such a brilliant all round entertainer - singing was brill and story telling had the audience in tears both genuinely moved and also rolling with laughter ALso saw in panto in Brum in January and was even funnier - just couldn't help himself with asides to the audience and corpsing with laughter. The show isn't camp - but the audience is! Excellent for people watching

Bantambabe
How did it go? Was it fab? I'm going tomorrow night and can't wait Bit concerned actually as I dreamt last night that John B took me out for dinner at The Ivy - only it had formica tables and a fish & chip style servery. No wonder we got a table without a reservation A friend of mine (male), when I was talking about JB the other day, said "Why do you fancy him? You know he's gay don't you?" Oh, wrong thing to say!! I just pointed out all the best ones are . Seems somewhat irrelevant to me - I can still fancy him can't I - since I'm very unlikely to meet him anyway! Roll on tomorrow eve. Lydia
He was very entertaining and exactly like you'd imagine he would be. He doesn't take himself very seriously. Highlights were the Scottish/Musical Theatre combo (think a mash up of Andrew Lloyd Webber songs but with a Scottish theme, bagpipes and a bit of Brigadoon thrown in!). And the tribute to his dead dogs past and present, complete with pictures and soaring show tune has to be seen to be believed I also enjoyed Daniel Boyes (one of the ones who didn't win Joseph) version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Might seek that out on Itunes. I was also rather embarrassed to find that I still knew all the words to "I Know Him So Well" after all these years Oh and Mr B is clearly very proud of his bottom and enjoys showing it to the audience at every possible opportunity All in all I thought he was very good and I'd do it again. You'll have a great time!
Willow
Yep very enjoyable ! I'd never heard him sing before - he's good. Came across as a very nice person who enjoys performing and still feels privileged that audiences like him. I loved the tribute to his dogs very genuine, did an appeal on behalf of dogs trust as part of it. Some very funny stories as well.
Bantambabe
Ooooh Just got back - very good and glad he's had some dancing lessons since last year. Don't know how his voice survives that thrashing every night, was excellent. Off now to google the Playhouse theatre and La Cage aux Folles which he is apparently appearing from the autumn. Still buzzing too much to go to bed

bellekatz
I really enjoyed last night - it was hilarious! The bit where he has his parents on stage was so funny ( unintentionally) - his Dad was walking off the wrong side of the stage, the dancing girls were shouting him over so he did it with a funny walk and tripped over the mat he wasn't hurt, but JB had a fit of the giggles and couldn't stop laughing - he ended up in a heap in the middle of the stage giggling like a school boy. He also asked if anyone had filmed that bit could they please put it on You Tube so he could see it again!!! And they have, of course!! He is such a natural on stage - I think he gets it from his Dad! I really enjoyed the Dogs Trust bit as well and From a distance He also announced the BBC have asked him to do a new show. I feel a trip to cardiff panto coming on................
