I looked at it in Waterstones last week, and wasn't impressed, well not least not enough to buy it. It is a pretty book though and comes with a free tote bag

PM me your address & I'll stick it in the post..if I remember correctly it doesn't really show you HOW to make things, just how to decorate a readymade bag/towel/pillowcase etc.

 

Got mine from Book People at Christmas so not tote bag with mine

I see what you mean....I had a flick through in waterstones and it is not at all what i was expecting

 

Sha....if you don`t mind popping it in the post to me I would still like to borrow as there were a couple of bits that took my fancy but as A chickychickychick-ENN!! says I wouldn`t pay full price for it. I will return it to you with postage cost

They should have called the book 'embelish' as it was all about decorating things that you already had rather than making things. I bought it on pre-order from WHSmith and took it back the day after it arrived. I was really looking forward to it too.

My son works in a bookshop and bought it for me for Mother's Day! He probably chose it from what was available in the shop - they don't have a great selection of craft books. However, this book has pride of place as it's a gift from him - but next time he looks as if he is thinking of buying me a book, I will direct him to my wishlist on Amazon for inspiration!

Sometimes the mantra "it's the thought that counts" over-rides any previous feelings about the book/gift doesn't it Egzandra - and the book is lovely...lots of lovely bright pictures....lovely Cath Kidston style prints....just not named correctly as Yolky has said, "Embellish" would be much more appropriate !!! I wouldn't have paid full price for it either, I bought it through the Book People!
