Angus Arran Chooks
Heard of or bought from "All year round birds" located in West Lothian somewhere? I see that they have the illusive silkies for sale and was about to press the button when I thought I would check with you guys...
Becka
I haven't personally but I think that's where a friend of mine bought some birds from. If you like I could ask her and PM you her opinion? Is it bantam silkies or full size you're looking for because there's a man on the practical poultry forum who is based on the south side of Glasgow who has had silkies in the past. I've bought from him and he was very helpful. He had lots of more unusual birds and hatching eggs. Becka
Jillus
I have also seen the adverts but have never been to visit . Kintaline Poultry near Oban have a lot of unusual breeds too and a great web site at www.kintaline.co.uk Good luck withy our search.
Ain't Nobody Here
No, no, no . Don't buy from them . I'm fairly positive I've heard really bad things about them . I'll try to find the thread that mentioned them. I hope you've not pressed that button . Edit: here's 3 threads all of which mention All Year Round Birds (in not very flattering terms ): Lots of other breeders are mentioned so hopefully you'll find one that suits . http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=38284&hilit=all+year+round+birds http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21925&highlight=year+round+birds http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=24626&hilit=+all+year+round+birds
Jillus
I'm glad that you posted that about All year Round Birds as I too had it in the back of my mind that I had heard some bad stuff about them but could not remember where!
Becka
And there was me trying to be subtle! I haven't heard good things either I'm afraid but you never know if it's just been a one off. Becka

Angus Arran Chooks
Thanks to all you guys for your replys and PMs. So glad I put a wee message out there before I did anything. Steering clear as I dont have the experience to deal with any "disasters" yet. Thanks to everyone. Bare me in mind if you hear of any little silkies in my neck of the woods... SAB
I was about to say that I can vouch for how lovely Kittoch's silkies are, then realised that might sound a bit naughty !

Ain't Nobody Here
I'm sure you'll be fine but if I were you I would check them all over very thoroughly just in case (you should get advice on the things to look out for in the Chicken Clinic).
