Woo hoo!!!

One of my chickens layed their first egg today!!!

I was so proud, and she was quite proud of herself too! I felt like a little kid when i looked in and their it was in the nesting box!!

never thought i'd ever be that excited by an egg!!

 

 

We've had them 2 and a half weeks so i'm impressed!

Now the other 5 just need to follow her lead.

I still get super excited 5 weeks later when one of ours lays. The first egg is amazing. The other amazing thing is seeing an egg pop out, so keep watching!

We waited until we had 3 so we could all have one but I made sure mine was the first one by marking it.

Our first layer has now had a couple of soft shelled eggs but 2 of the others have started to lay now so it's not a problem, just hope she starts laying hard ones again soon!

 

I think one of the eggs from yesterday is a double yolker too coz it is absolutely HUGE!!!

cool. I haven't had a double yoke yet. One of mine layed soft shell for the first 2 eggs which I know is common. But popped in a bit more ground baked egg shells in their feed just to be sure and the next one was hard. I bet that you are eating them as fast as they are laying them. It took a week of three laying for me to get a build up of eggs.
