Not sure what it means but my Miss Pepperpot who incidentally is suffering at the moment from an impacted crop has laid an egg today and it is very pale, almost white compared to her normal brown ones - does this mean anything

I have also one which has had a problem - has laid a lash and then had softees and yesterday she laid a white very rough coated shelled egg and hope that she continues in the same vein and lays again - they neither of them laid to-day which is unususal.

 

I am hoping the rough white egg is just the start of the laying mechanism again and it will get into gear shortly.

one of mine not sure which one is laying softies and sometimes i get very thin shelled eggs and pale or one with lumpy bits on. I am sure the strange eggs are the same hen.

 

I have often just given them to the dog to eat on the grass

 

But mine have had the odd pale one too

Milly's eggs went pale for a few weeks (so I couldn't tell them from Molly's ) but they seem to be getting darker again.

My Batties eggs can be anything from almost white & rough to really quite tanned with a beautiful smooth shell and anything in between with any combination of smooth, almost gritty but only on one end or some have had "warts" on too! And the size varies quite markedly too.
