Hi all,

 

I lost a tub that i was using for the girls sand bath, so ive just put the sand on the floor!

 

 

Well today they have been eating some of it

 

 

Will they be OK or should i get the hoover out? (for the sand not the girls lol)

 

The sand is the kid stuff from Argos

They eat grit all the time so guess its ok and being play sand it won't have any nasties in it.

Ah that's good then.

 

I'm really glad i don't have to get the hoover out cuz i'm not sure what the neighbors would think about me hoovering the garden

Don't you hoover the eglu and polish the bars every day.

Check their crops Raina. One of mine ate LOADS of sand as a young POL hen and blocked her crop! Taking action straight away can help save them.

 

If their crops are not empty in the morning, I'd recommend syringing oil (olive oil seems to be ok) down their throats, and massaging their crops to get it all shifting. You might have to do it a few times during the day.

 

Oh they are silly things at times aren't they?!
