seraphine Posted May 26, 2009 Share Posted May 26, 2009 Isabella (our 4 year old) has been periodically checking the nestbox all day, at around 6pm tonight she came racing indoors to tell us Annie, her hen, was sitting in the nestbox and she thought she was laying an egg! Well, lo and behold, Annie came strolling out of the Eglu about 5 minutes after so Bella and I went to check and yes - there was an egg! How exciting is that?! Our first egg on day 1! And to think I was worried about them scaring the hens! It was the other way around! Nice to see another Londoner! We can keep hens in the city! Cornelia has been trying so hard, bless her, we've had four soft shell or no-shell eggs laid in the Eglu and run over the last few days, but today.... she did it, a proper egg in the nest box What a great feeling.
