house-elf
Hi I'm struggling to find some steel / metal lidded bins that I can keep my feed in when stored on the shed - any ideas as to where I can find them...? I assume plastic ones are no good as rats etc can chew through them ? Thank you !
Daphne
I use a standard metal dustbin from a hardware store/SCATS-type place, but there are loads of fancier options. I'm sure others will signpost you to them. You're right - don't use plastic as rats do chew!
Egluntyne
I use bog standard 'Top Cat' type metal bins from a local independent ironmonger. Cost £18 each.
Falkor
I use one of these: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60045656 From Ikea and a bargain at £10.76 A 20kg bag of pellets/mash fits very nicely I secure the lid with a bungee cord just in case those little mice join together to lift the lid

Chucky Mama
I have 2 standard plastic dustbins in the back garden. 1 with mash and 1 with corn; no sign of rat damage at all.
Dawn-Dave
I use standard palstic black bins & have had no trouble yet. I keep my dog food in one in the garage ( for over 12 months) with no signs of rat damage & the chicken pellets in another with no sign of rat damage..........fingers crossed. ails
Bit more expensive that the Ikea ones but I got 2 steel bins from Homebase last year and use them to store all my chicken feed etc etc.
redranger
We have one very similar to the Ikea one, but it has a foot pedal to open the lid. From Homebase I think
