My little 'runt' Black Silkie is stronger today so fingers crossed it will be fine.. not sure it will catch up with the others though but not as 'feeble' as yesterday..

You can handle them from minutes old if the Broody won't mind. Some are really protective and won't let you move her, others are relaxed and trusting.

As lewis says as long as your hen doesn't mind then straight away..my girl is very relaxed about it as long as we stay nearby so she can see them.. This is her second hatch so I know she's fine with us around

Was trying not to name as only want to keep 2 really so can't tell until sexed, however DD had other ideas!

Partridge Silkie is 'Squishy'

Larger Black Silkie possibly 'Marmite'

 

Braham is Morgan - keeping with my 'car' theme

 

CLB think might be 'Monty'

Marmite sounds a good name for the silkie - just goes right. Snap for Squirt! Good names - at least your DD picks sensible ones - I'm referring to that silly Jiu Jiu that my DD came up with - you try typing it - my fingers just don't like doing it.
