The cover must have blown off our pool and we have just rescued Nutmeg from it, flapping like mad to try to get out

 

We brought her inside and I have been drying her with the hairdryer, she has now gone back out and is making such a racket. I think she is telling the others not to go near the big blue thing.

 

I hate to think what would have happened if we hadn't looked out of the window

OMG ! lucky you saw her .And there was me worrying how mine would cope with the large 3 inch deep puddle that has formed on the back path !

We have a big blue thing in the garden....so far the chooks have just walked around the outside snaffling any bugs which are hiding around the slabs & legs.

 

I'm glad that you noticed her before any real harm came to her.

We've had a forum member lose a chicken that drowned in her pond - please remember if you have ponds/pools to cover or fence them off.

 

CHickens cannot swim and their feathers become water logged and heavy, dragging them down.
