Lewis
How many chicks do you want? Then add 3 for breakages + unfertiles. I'd say start with 6 or something?
abwsco
How many chicks do you want? Then add 3 for breakages + unfertiles. I'd say start with 6 or something? She's currently sitting on six eggs Popped them under her an hour before their bedtime and she looks like she's sitting tight on them. abwsco
If anyone is interested she is still sitting tight on them all I've lifted her off on Wednesday and today to make sure she's eating and drinking and pooing. She's had dustbaths both times and done the infamous broody poos. I now know what people mean about them

abwsco
What eggs is she on? She's on 2 welsummer eggs, 2 welsummer x cb maran eggs and 2 wyandotte x white leghorns. They're from my friends chickens so just hoping they're fertile. She's due her first hatch from her birds this weekend. Are you in the process as well? abwsco
Checked her first thing this morning and nothing. Checked later on and there is cheaping No idea how many or from which eggs as I don't want to disturb her. Wasn't expecting it today as the eggs only went under her late afternoon 3 weeks ago. abwsco
Fingers crossed they are girls. We have three now as there is also a copper black maran x welsummer. I have pics of them as well at a few hours old which I will post later. Managed to get them when I was trying to get some water down Mum. It's so tempting to go and keep looking but we're going to leave her alone as much as we can.
