Is it ok to hatch bantam eggs under a normal size chicken. I have another broody and have been given some seabright eggs and was wondering if it would be ok to use her?

Also, i know this might be a stupid question but is it still 21 days for bantam eggs?

Not sure about Seabright as know they are rather tiny, but I sucessfully hatched 4 Pekin bantams under my large Suffolk last year without any problems

 

The chicks were like little bumble bees around her but she did a great job in rearing them. I guess it would depend on the Hen you use and how careful she is...

 

Bantam eggs tend to hatch a but earlier 18/19 days.

I've just hatched two tiny weeny Serama with some Legbars under a big Barnevelder. They're fine, but occasionally get under mum's feet and get kicked accidentally. But it appears to be making them stronger and braver!
