Phosphorus
I think both my gold brahmas are girls - definately one as she feathered up so quickly and now the other one as her colouring is the same now and no real patches unfeathered on her back now. Any thoughts greatly appreciated? I think this one is a girl: This is the other one who is catching up with the feathering now - both 5 weeks tomorrow. Lewis
I'd say they look like girls to me, just because of the feather patterns. The males tend to be a bit green and have big orange heads.
Redwing
I would say the first is a girl but the second one is quite upright in its stance and its feathering is less even as you say Lewis normally knows his breeds though so I would go with his prediction They are stunning, I am

Lewis
Lewis normally knows his breeds though so I would go with his prediction Do I? - watch me get it wrong now The second one is upright as you said, and could have a bit of orange on its neck? We had Billy the Brahma (a cockerel) at the farm. The kids used to chase him round the sheep building and he was nearly as big as some of them! They're a really gentle breed and he'd just stand there and get pecked on by little silkie cockerels! We (well me, the others said it was just a chicken ) used to pick him up and take him to a quiet bit of the farm or put him in with the growers so he wouldn't get bullied
