White Khaki Cambells stopped laying and won't restart

I have read somewhere that you should not let your chooks roost on plastic roosting bars as when they get hot and sweaty it makes their feathers fall out.

 

Might be just a coincidence but all our chooks have been loosing feathers since we bought the cube. ! maybe moulting but one of the others has only just got her feathers back after a very long moult last autumn.

I have never read that myself, not noticed a problem with my girls either

My girls have never moulted since I've had them or since I've had plastic roosting bars. I can't see that they would get "hot and sweaty" anyway as the ventilation in the eglu (and I'm assuming cube too) is perfectly adequate.

I think it was more to do with air flow underneath the bars.......if there was too much bedding/aubiose etc in the tray

The only thing we have in the tray is a sheet of newspaper!

 

Maybe it is just moulting after all!
