Karen & co.
Hello Congratulations on the new little arrivals One of my cream legbar girls has bent toes on both feet, and it worried me when first got her, but some kind replies put my mind at rest She is fine, it doesn't stop her from doing everything else the others do, and I think its something to do with humidity when they are hatching Karen x
Redwing
I can't see your pic, would have loved to have seen the chicks! I understand that as they grow bent toes can sort themselves out fingers crossed and congratulations on your chicks
Stu58
Hi Thanks for your replies. Here is a link to some pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8914439@N02 (hope it works) I'm worried that the chicken with the bent toes is also a male legbar as its very grey, what do you think? Thanks again for your replies.
Egluntyne
It is a bit late to do anything about it at six weeks I'm afraid. The breeder should have attended to it straight away. A few days with a bit of simple strapping would have sorted it. As long as the hen can potter about normally, there should be no cause for concern. He won't win any prizes at the County Show though. Redwing
That toe is very bent isn't it? As already said it should be fine just looks a bit unusual Did the breeder not notice it? I'm not sure about the boy/girl thing as I would only recognise the difference in young chicks sorry
Lewis
I'm worried that the chicken with the bent toes is also a male legbar as its very grey, what do you think? It does look like it He's very grey as you said, and doesn't have a brown chest like the female. Saying that its smaller and doesn't have any headgear so could just be younger
