Torrential rain flooding run

Shopping for DD has got me really worried now about some of these models. DD is about 5'6" and is a size 8. She is really slim and, were she any more so, would look like a skeleton. How (and why) do girls starve themselves into being size sero??? and why does the fashion industry still seem to think it is acceptable?
