My six pekin girls free range most of the day, so that's a lot of poo! I go out at least twice a day to poo pick, sprinkle citronella oil on tea bags and drop them in the borders, and make sure that the girls get garlic powder in their pellets. When it's warm, though, there is still a definite smell of chicken Those curry poos have a vaguely 'burnt' stench which is pretty pungent. I've taken to dropping a small handful of compost on them, so that it's much easier to dispose of them later. I was just wondering what other 'stink prevention' methods others use?

Add garlic powder ( the horse sort) and or bokashi bran to their food.

 

A sprinking of garden lime about the place will freshen things up too.

A bit of Stalosan doesn't hurt too. I sprinkle it in the run.

I have to say I have found the curry poos getting worse these days. I can be sat in my back room with the back door open and the run is about 60foot away and I can smell when they have done one

I can really notice it when I forget, or don't put enough in their food...

I find bokoshi bran, makes their poo's generally more pleasant (and I rarely get a curry poo). i alos flick a lot of citronella esential oil around the place!

I pick each day from run and garden but if you get those curry poos on you ugh pong. They have garlic but those ones are rich. I sprinkle some earth where they have been to discourage flies. In the run I just chuck any litter that has touched them.
