I suppose you could, but it wouldn't be as secure and you'd have to damage the cube front, (eg, drill holes etc) to make some slide bits fit.

True, but I assume you'd need to do something to attach one to the slider for the cube which would damage it?

I've just though, we have an auto-turner for the incubator at school, which is a metal rod that moves forward and backwards, that looks a lot like the Cube handle.

Maybe you could make something similar? or adapt one so that the cube metal rod goes through the motor and it slides the door open and closed?

Hmm, I'm not sure, as to close the cube door you have to pull, then twist, and then push, then the opposite to reopen. Would that mechanism work?

I'm not sure how it works as I've not got a cube, but I'd assume the twisting locks it?

The motor would literally slide the pole from left to right or right to left, so the cube door would have to be left shut but not locked.

The motor would obviously need some adjustments otherwise the door would open and close a few times a day as it is intended for turning eggs, and doesn't have a light sensor.

Gosh, thanks for all your replies, I'll have to see what my brother can sort out (hes good at this stuff). I wasn't too keen to drill holes, but a Wallace and grommit style temp fitting with a bracket secured to where the run bolts onto seems to be my best bet.

Thanks, and I'll keep you posted.

Do you have a walk in run or a cube run?

If you had a WIR then you could make a tunnel from the cube door about a foot long into a hatch in the run. This would then have just a standard auto pop hole on :? That could work.
